‘Senior Tsunami :Aging of America’ seemed the most fitting title for this video segment.
Produced in 2019 while this web-host was working at KHSL television in Chico, California, the segment provides an overview of the staggering population projections as our nation ages.
This story features a family caregiver who at the time was caring for her elderly mother. Since this original airing, sadly, we have said goodbye to that loved one.
Watch this segment to hear a personal story of love and dedication. This family caregiver devoted her time, energy and love to her mother. How did she manage while holding a full-time career? And not just any career, but a registered nurse!
The segment also explores the realities faced by an aging nation. How will an increase in the numbers of seniors impact housing? What about medical care? Insurance? Transportation? Employment? And of course, the ripple-impact on those providing care?
