Project Description

When caregivers have a meltdown. Seriously – watch it happen. In real time. To me, Julia Yarbough.

In this short REAL and RAW video, I captured a moment when the exhaustion and fear took hold. Anyone who is in the thick of caring for a loved one should watch. You realize, you are not alone.

Angst and fear

Keeping it REAL Caregiving creator Julia Yarbough shares some of the angst, fear and frustrations involved with being a family caregiver to an elderly parent.

‘When caregivers melt down’ is an unfiltered view during tense moments when a child and family caregiver comes to the realization … there is no way to control the march of time and decline of an elder.

Captured in March, 2020, the moment took place late on a Friday afternoon, after KIRC creator Julia Yarbough was at the tail end of a work week, with early-morning hours (2:30am – 11:30am).

For anyone who thinks caregivers should just ‘suck it up’ when they start venting or sharing their true emotions, I urge you to consider the pain of this moment.
