Caring for siblings, yourself, and your money

How to juggle the reality and keep your sanity

Wow, if that doesn’t sound like a triple-challenge, I don’t know what does! That is exactly why we are tackling this trio of topics.

Hello KIRC fam!

Welcome again to the evolving platform that is Keeping It REAL CaregivingI invite you to check out the archive of previous blog posts for information and guidance. Some policy items may have change since we began in 2021. Other items, sadly, remain the same and include ‘need to know’ information for those entering the world of caregiving.

If all the background ‘tech’ work I’ve been doing works correctly, you should be receiving this latest post to your email (just like before) but now it is being delivered directly from the KIRC website and blog page.

*NOTE: During this transition, some of the thumbnail images and links have yet to be updated in previous posts.

I would love to hear from some of you (consider this a BETA TEST) to get feedback on how everything is working.

Event Guests:

Heather Robert, family caregiver to a sibling and preparing to possibly care for parents. Ms. Robert is also pursuing a degree in gerontology at San Diego State University, California. She is passionate about understanding ‘systems’ impacting the care workforce and families.

Sid Starks, family caregiver to parents, in-laws, and a professional financial planner. Mr. Starks focuses much of his insight through the lens of the importance of insurance and financial planning, to ‘be prepared’ for the realities of the costs of care.

Hope you will be able to join us for this first Sunday Coffee Chat and Support of the new year. I’ll share the LIVE LINK to the event this coming Sunday, January 20, 2024.

And remember – feedback and comments are welcome – especially as I continue to evolve the concept and reach of Keeping It REAL Caregiving.

Until next time~
Julia
